YOUTH VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

YOUTH REQUIREMENTS

Second Harvest Northland offers a variety of volunteer opportunities suitable for youth (age 17 and under). To keep our youth volunteers as safe as possible, these opportunities do require an increased level of supervision and minimum age requirements.

Please check the description of each opportunity for specific age requirements, as they may vary.

 

YOUTH VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS

     •  All volunteers must complete the "SHN Waiver, Release and Confidentiality Agreement” form and have signed by a parent or guardian (chaperone signatures will not be accepted) prior to service.

   •  Listen, follow instructions, behave appropriately.

 

YOUTH CHAPERONE REQUIREMENTS

•  Chaperones must be responsible adults ages 18 or older.

   •   Provide effective, direct supervision to all youth volunteers at all times.

   •   Ensure implementation of volunteer project requirements.

   •   Accept responsibility for youth volunteer behavior, discipline when necessary.

 

AGE REQUIREMENTS

 

7 years and under	NOT ELIGIBLE
8 - 9 years	1 parent/guardian to 2 youth
10 - 11 years	1 parent/guardian to 6 youth
12 - 14 years	1 parent/guardian to 6 youth
15 - 17 years	1 parent/guardian to 10 youth

 

Volunteer opportunity limitations may apply. If you would like to bring a group that exceeds 10 volunteers, please contact us directly.

 

Second Harvest Northland reserves the right to excuse youth volunteers whose conduct disrupts or poses a safety threat to our operation, themselves, or others.
