Who We Are
Hunger can have dire health consequences for seniors. The likelihood of developing diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma and even depression increases when healthy and nutritious food isn’t regularly available. Our Nutrition for Seniors Program – Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) – provides a solution to hunger for seniors in need.
What We Do
Wholesome, shelf-stable foods like fruits, vegetables, cereal, meat and dairy items are made available by USDA. Volunteers pack the monthly menu of items into boxes which are distributed throughout NE Minnesota. Income eligible Minnesota seniors, over age 60, who are qualified for our program are able to pick up their food in person or assign a proxy to act on their behalf.
Each year thanks to people like you, an important meal gap is filled for thousands of seniors in need throughout NE Minnesota as part of our Nutrition for Seniors Program.
